What's new and noteworthy in the world of Canadian Kinesiology?

Kin Week 2011 – October 16-22, 2011

To help you celebrate Kinesiology in Canada the CKA/ACK has created a number of electronic resources:

  • Kin Week tool kit - Many useful tips and ideas to promote your specific areas of practice.
  • Kin Week Poster - You can print the poster and hang it up at your place of work or ask an allied healthcare professional or business associate to display the poster.
  • Power point presentations to facilitate communications with the public and the media:
    • What is Kinesiology;
    • A career as a Kinesiologist;
    • Hey you FAQ – media advisory.
  • Media release tip sheets:
    • What are key messages;
    • Media interviews;
    • Creating a successful relationship with the media;
    • The seven C’s of effective communication;
    • What to send to media.

In addition to Kin-Week specific tools, the CKA / ACK is proud to release a new tool kit created to facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration between Kinesiologists and allied healthcare professionals: A Tool Kit for Chronic Disease Specialists (CDS). Packed with lots of useful information - including a how-to for developing partnerships with allied health care professionals and best practices for Kinesiology in CDS - the tool kit will be useful to Kinesiologists working in many areas of practice.

Additionally, we have developed marketing materials to help Kinesiologists market themselves as CDS specialists: a large poster that can be displayed at the worksite or in the offices of allied healthcare professionals; a bookmark explaining the benefits of Kinesiology for CDS for physicians to hand out to patients; a prescription pad for physicians to refer patients to a Kinesiologist.
