#KinVision2022

The CKA/ACK is very pleased to report that wheels are in motion and picking up speed as we head towards achieving our 2018 to do list. Two action plans were drafted from the #KinVision2022 Strategic Plan in the 2 sectors of Communications and R&Development.

Here is a brief glance:

In Communications:

1. To engage a Marketing Expert to assist the CKA / ACK
2. To design a Marketing Communication Plan for the next 3 years
3. To create a new brand of the CKA / ACK ’s activities:

  • NHFD
  • Kin Week

4. To create relationships  with NHO (Health related)

  • articles in their publications
  • attend their events
  •  have one CKA / ACK  representative on key committees

In R&Development:

1. To engage a Government & Lobby Expert to assist CKA / ACK
2. To design a Lobby Communication Plan for the next 3 years to work on:

  •  taxation of kinesiology services
  • insurance: recognition of Kins on list of professionals included in benefit packages

3. To create relationships with NHO (lobby and insurance related) and other organizations

  •  articles in their publications
  • attend their events
  • have one CKA / ACK representative on key committees

The CKA / ACK works with a broad group of stakeholders that include industry, government and other cause/illness/health professional association groups. The CKA / ACK acts to unify and harmonize the governance and standards for kinesiology within Canada. Given that the mandate for the CKA / ACK is national in scope, over the years it has established mutually-beneficial and cooperative relationships with provincial associations and groups. The PKAs are involved in a variety of ways with the CKA / ACK to advance the profession. The CKA / ACK will continue working in collaboration with the PKAs to bring increased recognition and awareness of kinesiology and the sciences of human movement, to advocate on behalf of you, kinesiologists, partners and stakeholders, and to support common standards and professionalism. Nationally, the CKA / ACK is, and will be, a stronger and united voice of kinesiologists.

Stay tuned for more information on the consultative opportunities. Let’s develop our best future together!
