The KAS Education Day & AGM (a 1-day conference) occurring annually every May (rotates between Regina and Saskatoon) 

  • This provides members with continuing education worth 12.5 professional development credits (PDCs)
  • The May 2, 2020 Exercise & Ageing KAS Education Day & AGM will be:
    • $50 SKESA members
    • $125 for non-members

***Membership must be renewed and in good standing upon registration.

Member Registration Information

2022 Membership
(beginning Nov 8th, 2021 and ending on Dec. 31, 2022)

KAS has mandated the CKA to manage its membership and continuing education program. It provides you with an online services "One Stop Shopping" experience in which you can purchase your mandatory professional insurance through the CKA National Insurance Program taylored to kinesiologists' practice and coveres the entire scope of practice. Membership can be obtained online by clicking the "Become Affiliated" on top right of this page. Follow the instructions. When becoming a KAS member and as you purchase your insurance through the national program, you will also become affiliated to the CKA.

 

Memberships Categories

Professional Kinesiologist


KAS Certified Kinesiologist  

Professional Kinesiologist is an individual who practices kinesiology, has achieved academic standards (a 4 year university degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Physical Activity studies or another Kinesiology-based program); has a successfully completed an examination process, if applicable; meets the continuing education requirements; complies with the code of ethics and carries proper professional liability insurance for kinesiology practice. The Professional MAY HOLD a current certification such as CSEP, ACSM or NSCA. (not mandatory) (referred to herein as Professional Kinesiologist);

 

Associate Members

Associate Members, an individual who has a university degree or college diploma in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Physical Activity studies or another Kinesiology-based program, who is not currently employed or engaged in the practice of kinesiology, who meets the requirements of Professional Membership and has no intention of practicing for the duration of the year, however still wishes to be kept informed and take part in the activities of KAS. This category MAY ALSO INCLUDE those individuals who have certification such as stated above;

 

Student Members

Student Members, which, upon application and acceptance by the Executive Committee, shall be comprised of individuals currently enrolled in fulltime or part-time Kinesiology/Exercise science studies in a post-secondary institution and wishes to be informed or take part in the activities of KAS (referred herein as Student Members);

 

Academic Members

Academic Members, which, upon resolution of the Executives Committee, shall be comprised of any individual who is currently employed by a post-secondary institution in a teaching and/or research capacity and wishes to be informed and/or take part in the activities of KAS and does not practice kinesiology, that is, performing acts outside from its current employment.
